Well, I'm leaving in just a few days and I have plenty to do, mostly the things I should have been doing over the last few weeks. First and foremost, change all fluids & grease everything that moves on Mosey The Flathead. That's no small deal. For example, I have to REMOVE the front wheel just to lube the axle. I can't quite get to the grease fitting because there's a little hubcap thingy in the way. Jack the bike up, pull the axle, pop the hubcap off and take 30 seconds to pump a bit of grease into the axle bearings. Then reassemble. Good news is, no worries after that, we'll be good for many miles.
I need to wander around and get a few fiddly things like a sheepskin and a couple snaps for my helmet. I need to get all my spares assembled in one place: master link, inner tube, headlight bulb, primary belt, 3 qts of OIL, lug nuts (THERE is a story), lug nut wrench, oddball tools (big wrench, vise grips, hammer. It IS a Harley).
Then start packing. Toothbrush, at least 2 pair of undies and spare socks. Maybe a spare t-shirt or three. Oh yeah. Meds. I'm 61 now, need my meds.
Off to breakfast with the guys!
