Celebrating the successful completion of the first half of the run.  Two trophys served up nice & hot!

Panhead Mike's Trophy

Panhead Mike got this trophy with 957 miles.  He has quite a bit of difference but his speedometer is original & off a bit.  I rode 6-8 miles to his place before we started so he actually has just a few miles less than me.  Really there should be 2 first place trophys.  We did this together as partners.

Caveat

Blogging from my phone can be tough. It's a great tool but it may have too much capability.  It has auto-speller & sometimes sticks words in that aren't intended.  AND I don't proof as much as I should.

Longest Ride Sign-in Sheet

When we showed up yesterday, Tom The Host said "I see you Seattle guys are here to collect your longest ride trophys."  So obviously this crowd has a reputation.  Check the sign-in sheet. If you can read it, you'll see I had 1020, Panhead Mike had 957 and the next rider had 90 miles on a 1961 Duo Glide. 

I can't believe how fortunate I am. I'll be taking home one of the best prizes I could ever hope to get. Yay!

Back at the Hotel

Party's over, dinking with the bikes at the hotel.  Panhead Mike's bike is still running a bit rough.  It's a long way back, trying to get it right. Besides, Howard must dink.

Mike found a 6 volt coil, they'll probably stick it in & give it a shot.

FLATTIE WON LONGEST DISTANCE!!

It wasn't me, that's for sure, I just delivered the bike to Dixon.  Thanks to the whole gang for the inputs & advice & hard work.  This is a very cool moment in my life. When I bought Flattie I had resigned myself to pooping around town.  now I'm 1000 miles away with a treasure. I'm talking about the bike, of course. The trophy is icing on a 10th year cake - it took that long to get the bike here.
